We would like to introduce a new segment to our webpage. Our older brothers and sisters of the Roswell Stake are getting to the stage where they may not be with us much longer. We want to pay tribute to them before they go home to meet our maker by doing pages for those we love, both living and those who have passed on. We have started off with President Lyle Norris (Portales and counselor in the District Presidency), along with Jesse and Bobbi Buckner (Carlsbad). I’ve gathered these three over the past couple of years. Please feel free to contact Terry Freek, terry_freek@byu.edu, to submit obituaries and writeups of those how made an infuence in your life. Photos should be thumbprints no larger than 40 KB in .jpeg format. We would encourage anyone who would be interested in doing some bio write ups of loved ones and/or those who made an impact in your life. Since there are plans are for having a reunion in 2011, this web-site can help reunite us virtually. Please pass the word along and share! Love to all!! Terry Freek (Orem, Utah)

Greetings Fellow Roswellites,
Now that the holidays and vacations are history, it is
time to pass the torch to the new Roswell Reunion
administration team. From the personal discussions
after the reunion, the e-mails, the cards and phone
calls, etc, all indications are that the Sept. 8,
2007, Roswell New Mexico Stake Reunion was a
resounding success! Many, including myself, felt that
it was a rich spiritual and fun experience. It was
great to see so many of our friends again. We had
about 240 in attendance and we regret that some who
wanted to come had conflicts which prevented their
attending.
I am very grateful for all the help and support which
we received from many of you to help pull off this
amazing event. I want to give though, a special thanks
to Lynn Chandler. She was the one who was inspired to
have the first two reunions. Even though we were miles
apart, we kept in regular contact via phone calls and
meetings, and were able to work together and pull off
the third reunion. She receives commendation for all
her efforts prior to and during the reunions. Her
husband, Mike, has also been a great supporter.
Daughter, Kristi Young Moulton is also to be
commended. Information on the whereabouts of all of
the former Roswellites was funneled to her and she
created the roster with everyone’s names which was
handed out at the reunion. She kept updating and
updating and updating the roster until it was in it’s
final form, and she updated it again after the reunion
was over. She kept track of all the volunteers who set
up, furnished food, served food, took down and cleaned
up, and then she took care of registration and
collecting of funds. Thanks also go to her husband,
Neil, and her four children for supporting her as she
spent days and weeks on the computer. Thanks also to
my wife, Jan, who helped me during the planning,
organizing and carrying out of the event. We also
thank Diane Spencer and Jean Norris for their
assistance and regret that Jean was not feeling well
at the time of the reunion and unable to attend.
Thanks to all of you who supported our endeavor by
encouraging, and attending the reunion. Many came from
out of state, including New Mexico, Colorado,
Washington State, Arizona, Idaho, California and even
Dubai! Some from our former District and Stake who
still live in Roswell were there.
Curtis MacPherson volunteered to create a web site and
subsequent to the Reunion he has done so. Curtis
bounced around the cultural hall all evening taking
pictures of everyone and he has posted a video clips
of the evening on the website. Our new web site is
www.roswellites.com. Please contact the web site,
register, send pictures and communicate with your many
friends on the site. We invite folks from the current
Roswell Stake to sign on. Also, if you know of others
that were not at the reunion, but have lived in the
Roswell Stake, please let them know of the website. We
would love to hear from any and all of them! Terry
Freek will assist in the administration of the site
and Scott Danielson has also offered his assistance.
Financially, after paying all of our bills, we ended
up in the black. After paying $100.00 to set up our
web site, we had a balance in our account of $358.10.
We plan to use $108.10 towards our next Reunion, and a
check for $250.00 will be mailed to the Roswell Stake
President for use by a missionary from the Stake.
Thanks again to all of you for your support!
Alan Medaris and Pat Box now become the Roswell New
Mexico Stake Reunion Committee with the assistance of
their spouses, Anna Louise and Marlene. The next
reunion will be up to them. Thanks again to all who
involved themselves in any way!
Sincerely,
Allen & Jan Young

What a wonderful opportunity to keep in touch. I hope we will be able to keep this going. We have been home from our mission for about 7 months. We are in the process of remodeling after renting our home out for 14 years. Life is busy, but wonderful. We love you all and pray your life is full of blessings and experiences. Love to all, Debbie Buckner (Aka Debbie MacPherson)
